ONE DAY TOUR / LATVIA / KEMERI NATIONAL PARK

 

• The Great Ķemeri heaths nature trail - the Ķemeri National Park was established in 1997. The sulphurous water that was once the reason for the establishment of a very popular spa at Ķemeri is still there. One-quarter of Latvia’s endangered plant species can be found in the park. Among animals, the park is home to the rarely seen sea eagle, the whimbrel and the eagle-owl. The Great Ķemeri Heaths nature trail was established in 2000, and it today it is the longest and most impressive path of swamp footbridges in Latvia. The circular path starts and ends at the same location. The aim of the path is to introduce visitors to swamp landscapes and to the flora and fauna of the area;

 

• Kemeri resort legend- is a masterpiece of the architect E. Laube (1936). Previously it was a sanatorium with a very wide range of resort and medical services. Stylistically, the hotel is one of the brightest examples of neo-eclecticism in Latvian architecture;

 

• Smoked fish - let us drive through Ragaciems and stop over to visit the fishermen, offering their fish smoked, traditionally served meal in Latvia. Here you will have an opportunity to purchase freshly smoked fish of your choice;

 

• The sea and the beach - now we are on the way to the beach, where we can enjoy the warm waters of the sea and take a sunbath. In the winter time you can take walk near the sea;
