Description
• Start from Riga at 8:30 am;
• The White Dune - is the area of sandstone covered with sand at the outlet of the Incupe River where the river drains into the Baltic Sea. The sandstone layer was formed 405–350 million years ago. From the top of the 18 m high White Dune you can enjoy a beautiful view to the sea;
• The Munchausen museum - is one of the most visited ones in Latvia. There are only two Munchausen museums in the world – one in Bodenwerden, Germany, and the other in the Liepupe Parish of Dunte. In the exposition, you can see materials about the life of Munchausen in Dunte, household items of the 18th century, as well as an exhibition of wax figures featuring prominent personalities from Latvian history;
• North Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve - the scenic valley of the Salaca River with outcrops of sandstone, the legendary Burtnieku Lake, rich in fish, the Vidzeme seashore with littoral meadows and steep cliffs, castle mounds, marshes, sacred sites and charming small towns. Ziemelvidzeme Biosphere Reserve includes all of it;
• Lamprey (spring and autumn) - is a special delicacy for many gourmets, however, lamprey fishing is not so common in the world. Nowadays only in Salacgriva the weirs are still used for lamprey fishing - a unique fishing technique with a centuries old history. The first Salaca lamprey weir is a special construction footbridge crossing the river closest to the sea mouth, approximately 800m;
• In the evening return to Riga (at 20:30)
