Description
• Beginning at Hotel ( Riga, Jurmala) 10:00 am (or convenient time for you)
• Jūrmala Open Air Museum - was founded in 1970 and opened its doors to visitors in 1979. A 19th century fisherman’s farmstead has been created in the museum with old, characteristic buildings – the dwelling house, the cart-house with a barn, a net shed, a shed for curing fish, a bathhouse, and other buildings. These buildings were transferred to the museum from various fishermen’s villages in Jūrmala;
• Walking in Jomas street -is one of the central and oldest streets of Jūrmala and it has experienced many changes and transformations during its existence. Jūrmala is proud of its unique wooden architecture which has been a distinctive trait of its urban architecture since the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. The architectural features of Classicism, Art Nouveau, National Romanticism, and Functionalism harmoniously co-exist here;
• Ragaciems - this is a very interesting monument to the history of fishing in the region. These areas had docks and areas where fishermen built huts to store their nets and other inventory;
• Cape Ragaciems – a promontory from the western shore of the Bay of Rīga which ends with a shallow and rocky submarine shallows reaching several hundred metres into the sea. The Ragaciems Lighthouse is at the tip of the cape;
• Taverna in Ragaciems – smoked fish degustation;
• In the evening return to Hotel at 15:00
