It’s taken Latvia 25 years to shrug off the fetters of Communism, but this Baltic treasure looks ready to shine for its silver anniversary. The country is resuscitating ancient traditions, restoring crumbling castles and manor houses hidden in its pine forests, and transforming its once stodgy cuisine into cutting-edge New Nordic fare. Seductive Riga, meanwhile, has built on its reign as a European Capital of Culture with improved infrastructure and a round of renovations as its population continues to grow.
Latvia is a country with a strong heritage that is expressed in a multitude of ways, in the interior design of restaurants and shops to clothing made in centuries-old tradition. Souvenirs that reflect this heritage are often a combination of beauty and usefulness. Take a piece of Latvia home with you when you choose from the souvenirs available from this.

Celebration of the Latvian pagan holiday Līgo!, the year's shortest night, is the most Latvian tradition, and its key features are beer, caraway cheese, dances and Līgo! songs by the bonfire until dawn. A special Midsummer Fair will be held on Dome Square to properly prepare for the year's greatest celebration. Impressive flower bunches and garlands, delicious smoked meat and fish, home made cheese from all Latvian regions - all that along with cheerful singing, strolling and shopping all day long at the Fair!
While some of the more intrepid tourists have started to get word about how gorgeous Riga is, the rest of Latvia is an undiscovered wonderland of medieval castles, pristine forests, and centuries-old buildings in all sorts of styles.
